What NARS say: "Andy Warhol’s world has been inspiring François Nars for years. Now, NARS introduces a limited edition collection in the spirit of the iconic pop artist. From the formulas and shades to the packaging and names, every element of the NARS Andy Warhol Color Collection evokes Nars’ take on the cool, image-rich, character-laden world of Warhol"
I'm very excited to review this product as it's one I really, honestly love. I first tried it last night and found that it sank into all the little lines in my lips and whilst being very pigmented it was quite uneven in it's colour on application. Once I had spent a little time getting used to the brush and building up the colour I realised how easily buildable it is and since I have quite pigmented lips anyway I didn't need too much product to achieve an even colour true to that in the tube. I love the texture and while I wasn't too sure of the little brush applicator I now think it's fabulous for precision application which this lipgloss needs as it really packs a punch in it's colour.
You can see the colour on bare lips in the second photo. This was quite a heavy application as I like a lot of gloss when I wear it but the colour is visible and beautiful from a light handed swatch. It's a beautiful raspberry shade with no obvious heavy glitter particles which I really appreciate as usually when I find a shade I love it's packed with shimmer or glitter that ruins the appeal for me. I'm very impressed with the wear of this too as after four hours of wear including drinking a large spiced pumpkin latte it was still vibrant and still beautiful only slightly less high-shine gloss. The third photo is after four and a half hours of wear in which you can see the colour is still very much there just worn down. It's definitely one you'll need to reapply every few hours for the glossy look if you're using your mouth a lot (ahem).
One thing I will say is that it looks better over a lipstick. I tried it with a £1 MUA lipstick in shade 11 (a deep brownish pink) and it looked stunning. I'm going to be trying this lipgloss over different shades in the next few weeks and I'll post the results if you're interested?
All in all, this is a huge winner for me. The packaging, colour, formula, wear time and quite hydrating qualities are all right up my street and this has become my go-to for a bold glossy lip, alone or with a lipstick.
