Rituals Sacred Fire White Patchouli & Cedar Wood candle £16.50

What Rituals say: As the cold, dark nights draw in, make your home a sanctuary with the NEW Sacred Fire Candle from Rituals. The words “A life filled with wonder is a wonderful life” have been imprinted onto the glass allowing the message to shine through when the candle is lit. Designed to create warmth within the home, this luxurious candle is the perfect gift for those who crave ultimate indulgence. Inspired by soft cashmere on a winters eve, the scent combines the warming scent of white patchouli with warm, spicy undertones of cedar.

I am a huge fan of scented candles, Yankee Candles being my firm favourite so when this (rather big) goody landed on my desk I was excited. It smells just as it says on the box, of white patchouli and cedar wood which conjures up images of log fires, cable knit jumpers and a rather large glass of Baileys. It smells exactly like Christmas or warm, snuggly nights in should smell. The one thing I noticed and loved is that while it smells very strong and is a true delight to burn, there is no black smoke or artificial scents which is a huge positive. It even got a positive review from my boyfriend who hates air fresheners, strong perfume and scented candles.

First off, I really like the packaging. The box is attractive while still retaining the elegant, indulgent and Winter feel and inside the jar comes protected by a fold out cardboard holder which doubles as the base (you lift the top box off).

The jar is quite large and is a beautiful deep purple glass which compliments the berry purple of the candle wax perfectly. The quote "A life filled with wonder is a wonderful life" not only reminds me of December for obvious reasons but is also a stunning aesthetic to the design. The way it's carved into the glass gives the jar an elegant feel and while I've not yet got as far as burning it to the etched text, I'm sure the flame will make the letters glow.

This is something that is going to become a favourite this Christmas and like I said, I've burnt it for eight hours I've not yet got down to the etched text so there seems a lot of burn time. I'm already regretting it as it's only October and I want this beauty to last all of December. If I do get carried away I would have no problem purchasing this for £16.50 as while I am committed to continue burning Yankee day to day and don't think I will ever truly stray, there is nothing wrong with indulging an infatuation like this.

  1. I'm a Yankee devotee as well, but Rituals are fast becoming one of my favourite brands (their Summer Rain shower gel is amazing). Might have to give this one a go. Looks lovely! I have Evening Air and Beach Walk Yankee candles at the moment. I adore them :) x

    1. I'm a favourite of sweet scents usually with Vanilla Cupcake and Red Velvet coming out on top for me but the scent of this Rituals candle just draws me right in. I burn it mainly at night so I get the cosy feel of TV/blogging by candlelight in a beautifully scented room.

Glad you like Rituals. I'm currently testing their eye cream and serum too so a review will be up shortly of those if you'd like to read them?

    1. I'm glad you enjoy the blog so far. I love this candle so much and I don't think it's bad for the price either, especially when it's such a beautiful, rich but natural scent. If you pick one up to have a smell, let me know what you think!
