I am sorry about the terrible image quality. It's my birthday in two weeks so hopefully there will be an improvement when I get my new camera!
Last night I was invited to go to the John Lewis Christmas press show and have a look at their festive treats this year. I was really excited about this event because I love Christmas and believe the best products and shades come out in A/W, especially Christmas lines. I was not disappointed. John Lewis have put on a hell of a show from beautifully decorated home set ups in whites, chocolate, silver and taupe and fabrics such as faux fur and suede on everything from sofa's to throws and cushions. I'm a huge fan of candles so the candles twinkling all around the room made it feel even more homely to me. Along with the homeware there's also beautiful clothes for sale including the stunning pale pink dress with a faux fur gilet which I fell in love with with a lot of emphasis on sparkle on everything from accessories to dresses covered in sequins.
One area which excited me was the Lapland inspired children's Christmas theme. I can't tell you how much I loved the knitted advent calendar garland (I do have a photograph but I'm saving it for something else) and the abundance of red, white and green tree decorations. I spent a lot of time at the children's area and I'm not sure if it's because I have children or because I am a big child. One thing I need to buy is the VTech Innotab 2 as while I first thought it was a bit silly, that was before I picked it up. If I was that enthralled, my four year old will be too. All the specs are on that link but the only spec I need to know is that I can make myself into a pirate.
NARS and YSL were on hand to provide samples and talk us through their new and limited edition products. I got a better and closer look at the Andy Warhol collection for NARS which is looking stunning and a sample of YSL's Touche Eclat foundation which I am very much looking forward to testing. I've heard great things about it and I just hope it works for my skin.
All in all, if you haven't had a look through a John Lewis catalogue, in store or online yet, please do. It's packed full of must-have and lust-have products and has given me a lot of inspiration this Christmas, especially in the toy department.
* If I don't post for a while, I've bought the VTech and I'm currently sat in my bedroom making myself into a pirate.
** I'm kidding. Kind of.
