Before & after

Natural skin look parting & close up of texture

A better look at the quality, texture, colour and length
* Wig - Hair Passion - £12.99

You know I love wigs. From platinum blonde in an instant to extra length without the hassle or expense of extensions within seconds, a wig can change how I feel about a make-up look or an outfit. A wig can give me confidence or drain it.

I've been buying from Hair Passion for a while now and currently have four of their wigs (three purchased with my own money) so I feel I'm in a good position to talk about their products. This is the first straight wig I've bought from them and I love it. I usually stick to bouncy voluminous waves like the blonde wavy wig I wore for my 24th birthday a few weeks ago and beyond but I thought to really give my opinion I'd like to compare the light to the dark, the straight to the wavy.

Honestly, it's not worth a comparison. They're both made of soft, silky Kanekalon synthetic hair (no heat - they will fry), both have beautiful shine, both are thick and feel luxurious, both feel well made and sturdy on the head, both look realistic with a little brush through and some minor trimming to the fringes or styling and both last a decent amount of time. I say decent because I wear my wigs a lot with my average use of five times a week and they last without significant matting for two months plus. That is a lot considering I do tend to fall asleep in them, take them out in all weather conditions and have a habit of opening the oven with them on. Oops. Comparing two great products is a little redundant in this case.

The top photos are the before and afters and the bottom photo of the length is after I got caught in sleet. It does look a bit damp but there's no damage to it whatsoever and the best things about synthetic hair wigs is that they hold their style. I like to cover up the parting with a hat or hairband but it's absolutely not a necessity due to the fact it has an incredibly real looking silicone parting. You can adjust the size of the wig to fit your head but I will say that if you fit it too tight, it'll itch and give you a bit of a headache. Alas, we all do them up too tight to feel more secure the first few times. I like to grip mine with some bobby pins for extra security.

I'm not going to ramble more about how much I love wigs because I'm sure you all know by now but I am going to say that if you're a wig virgin, go buy one because at the steal of £12.99 for an extra long wig with some are even lower in price, it would be rude not to.

Hair Passion have a handy guide here if you're unsure which wig would suit you best and to answer any more of your technical questions.

  1. I have to admit I've never even considered wearing a wig other than for fancy dress, but this looks fantastic on you! I've tried clip in extensions, which were fun, but never thought to go the whole hog. Well done lady. Looks gorgeous x

  3. What a lovely wig! I've always thought about getting one rather than wearing hair extensions because they just ruin your hair! Might have to treat myself after Christmas!

    1. Definitely get one. You'll be amazed at what it can do. Plus, it's less than the price of a cut and blow dry let alone a colour or extensions.

      xo.

  4. This looks great on you. I quite fancying trying wigs but am not really sure they'd go on okay over the top of my thick, long hair. Xx
