It's the beginning of a new year and so it's time for those new year's resolutions. You know the ones, the ones we make to break but with all intent to keep in that merry haze of colourful drinks and clean slate hope. I'm putting aside the big lose weight, quit smoking goals and focusing on easier resolutions that I can actually keep.
Get more organised
With the December challenge complete and my life in some semblance of order, I'd like to keep it that way. I will write everything down and put things back when I've used them. I will.
Remember to be silly
This year I'd like to stop being so serious and remember that life has fun times and it's perfectly okay to dance around my living room with my children, put bras on my head for their amusement and not be afraid to make a fool out of myself.
Better my beauty self
Simple things like removing chipped nail polish completely and not just painting over the chips, taking my make-up off at night properly and not just with a wipe and cleaning my brushes every week without fail.
Remind the people that I love how much I love them
Whether it's with a hug, the words or a token gift - they need reminding.
Work hard and allow myself to play
If I work hard I deserve a reward be it a new dress or a night out. I'm not going to feel guilty for going out away from my children once in a while. I need to realise that it's allowed.
Read and watch more non-fiction
Because, well, I don't anymore.
The big thing. Learn to breathe, relax and not sweat the things that don't directly impact me right then and there. Easier said than done but I will try.
What are your resolutions?
