If you follow me on Twitter you may know that I've been given the green light to use the spare room as a home office. It will still be used as a guest bedroom housing a single bed but it will also be my 'creative room'. I work on a freelance basis together with blogging and I often find myself, like I am now, sat with my laptop on the kitchen table. It's often busy in here and is not a very calm place so a few months ago I suggested to boyfriend that the box room should be mine. At first he was keen, then not so but finally he's cleared it all out and said "Run with it".
So I am running with it.
The walls are magnolia and while I'd love it to be white, I don't think I'll change it any time soon. The bed will stay but will be used a day bed for reading and relaxing with lots of pillows up against the wall and cosy throws. In the corner there'll be a white desk but as of right now I'm not sure if it's cheaper to buy a white corner desk, buy an any colour desk or make one (boyfriend is still deciding). I do know that I want it to be light, airy and girlie as since it's quite a small space I really want to get the maximum appeal from it. I'm a fan of trinkets that can look pretty and be productive like the boxes and glass tub and in general I just want to make it a space where I want to read, write and sew. By the time I am done for the day being a mother it's difficult to want to do creative things in a messy space and I am definitely one of those 'tidy home, tidy mind' people.
Would you all be interested in a room makeover type post? It may take several months to get things spot on in there but updates, I can do. Please let me know!
